This is just my opinion... not necessarily advice.
Since it is just for a week I wouldn't worry about trying to get them to get along. Just try and keep them separated. I know it will be a lot harder giving them both the attention they deserve, but it's better than an emergency trip to the vet. (especially if your friend didn't give you a permission slip to have the dog treated if need be. Sometimes there is no backpedaling once you've admitted that it's not your dog.)
If this were a dog that would be staying with you much longer, than socializing the two to each other would be more important.
Good luck!!!

My schnauzer has also tried to attack the schnoodle when the schnoodle barked at my dog (when my dog tried to steal food/toy from the schnoodle). HELP! Am I supposed to let them figure out dominance? I don't want anyone hurt! Any thoughts about this would be appreciated.

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.
