my mom and I have been worken hard on creating some new gerbil cages as the baies are growing up fast, the Lilac baby(LS) will be moving in with Kat soon and Kats cage was not big enugh for 2. Kats cage will be for the non breeding females, another cage will be for non breeding males(though we wont be keeping many of them, its would mostly be retired males lol) and 1 cage will be for the current breeding pair, and another cage for Gerbils in waiting and a friend(Gerbils that will be bred eventually, or are taking a break before being bred again, caged with same sex friend until then). currently we have 2 cages made, the non breeding female cage, and the breeding cage.
the top one is for females that will never be bred. the bottom one is for the breeding pair(currently Sass, Jorden and their pups). there is another compartment below that one, that will be the 4th cage. the 3rd cage will be in another unit(same shelving, just a seperated section) that way they wont ALL be in my room lol
