    Polar Bear Plays with Dogs

Stuart Brown describes Norbert Rosing's striking images of a wild polar bear
playing with sled dogs in the wild of Canada's Hudson Bay.

The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his huskies when the polar bear materialized out of the blue, as it were:

Obviously it was a well-fed Bear...

The dog is on the chain, not the bear ... LOL.

The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs...

Wow, that's amazing. Are you sure that bear wasn't medicated?

    That is soooooo cool!!!!!
I've saved this other image off the internet for a couple years - either it's the same bear, or there's a much closer kinship between polar bears & huskies than we realized!

That's pretty weird! We usually only hear about Polar Bear ATTACKS in Churchill!
    Very cool, though.

Wow. Just look at the size of the bear's paw next to the dog.

That's just simply amazing. It still makes me nervous, though. I would have had a heart attack if I saw it in person I think. If the bear played just a little too rough, it could have accidentally broken a back or snapped a neck. I am glad for the photos, they are amazing, but I still cringe a little bit when looking at them.

So lovely, this brought tears to my eyes. We must stop global warming so that the polar bear always has a place to live.
