Digi loving the bean bag chair & squeeky toy her Auntie gave us today

Digi saw the white coats on monday & is being treated for a vaginal infection that spread to her bladder. The vet is sure Digi had the vaginal infection before I got her. The vet kept telling me that I did nothing wrong & she'll be just fine in 10 days. She also got her first set of 3 puppy shots. Her second set is at the end of the month, & I forget when her final shots are.. but they are in nov some time... Shes getting the FULL package, kennel cough + Parvo, & all the other regular puppy shots, so she can go to the doggy parks & not get sick. She was given 1 treatment of AdvantagePlus (fleas & heartworm) Shes also worm free & weighs a little over 7lbs The vet agrees that Digi is under weight(she was much worse when I got her!!), but approves on how I'm managing that, as I seem to know what I'm doing D'uh lol

When I got home today, there was a letter for Digi. I opened it & it was from her vet!! It was a welcome card !! Thats so sweet Its being displayed on my desk.

Just becareful, she likes to nibble on noses heheh

Her fur is getting longer (finally).. however it feels weird... It kinda feels like many of the hairs on the top of her back, on the last 1/2 of her back are stiffer... If that makes any sence. The first 1/2 of her back is so soft & so his her head... Her sides & legs are fairly rough (no wheres close to soft, but not stiff like the hairs on the lower 1/2 of her spine...

Its kinda neat, cause she feels so different all over hehe

This is the Aussie in her. This is exactly how Zoee's coat feels. The great thing about Aussie fur is if it gets muddy just let it dry and brush her (or not) and she is all clean again. With Zoee having a white chest area I was worried she'd always be dirty looking. Never! She is always bright white.

Digi is so adorable. I hope she gets better soon. It's not fun being sick.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Cool... does Zoee make a good winter dog? Digi's fur is still growing out (it was shaved by the idiot who had her before)... It looks like her paws will have a lot of hair under & ontop of them.. her nails are hidden by the fur now hehe

I don't know much about aussies, as I never thought of owning one (Even a mix), as my prefered breeds are larger breeds & usually shorter haired dogs, like labs, rottweilers, mastiffs, Germans & those kinds of dogs...

Shes crazy smart & I think that might be the german shepherd in her. As sooo many german pups I've seen & met have been really smart from the get go... my old dog wasn't lol he was dumb as a post until he was almost a year old. Then his brain woke up lol He was a lab, Rottweiler & pitty mix.

Mutts are sooo much fun, as you never know what your gonna get & that makes them soooo unique hehe

Digi is really growing! Her fur is growing out too. Looks like a very happy girlie! That is so nice you got a welcome card from Digi's vet. We should start doing that at the clinic I work at. It's a cute lil touch.

In answer to the question - Does Zoee make a good winter dog? - Aussie's have double coats, so in that aspect, yes. But with the Aussie hair, unless you take care of it and brush them a lot (which I lack at doing consistently), the hair gets matted, especially around the rear end area and behind the ears.
We use to take her to the groomer every once in a while for a good trim (NOT a shave, no way!!). Now I bought clippers so I can do it at home. We've only done it once and it wasn't bad. But next time I'm going to go shorter.
I think Aussies are smart dogs too. Although, sometimes I think Zoee is an airhead. LOL

I can't wait to see Digi once her hair is all grown back.

    What a cutie!!

To me it looks like she might have some terrier in her (Fox Terrier?) which would account for the wirey hair as well..

She is cute. I think she looks like she has some collie or sheltie in her. I say that because of the face shape. She is adorable whatever she is!

It doesn't feel like that.. its a smooth straight hair... kinda like a wisker but thinner & more flexible...
