    Edd

Edd I enjoyed meeting you today. It sounds like you got to know life with one of us humans for a while and I know you enjoyed yourself. Gee, even a ride in a Leggo trailer! My son found a turtle just like you once and named her Henrietta. Each morning he would search under the rocks in my rock garden for the tiny bugs that Henrietta loved to eat. We also had to put her back in the lake to hibernate and I remember how sad we were as we watched her swim away from us. Your human was very special to be able to let you go. I know it was a hard thing to do but you have remained in his/her heart because you are now our very special Pet of the Day!

Dear Edd, wherever you are!!! I know that at this very moment you are splashing and swimming about in a warm, murky pond, living a very happy turtle life. I know too that you look back with much love on the life that you shared with your human! I understand that you were very loved and are greatly missed! What fun those Leggo trailer rides must have been! It was an honor and privilege to meet you Edd. Today many across the world are sending you our heartfelt congratulations as we bestow upon you the great honor of Sunday Pet of the Day!

Dear human of Edd. What a selfless decision you made, returning Edd to the wilds. I am sure you miss him dearly. But I am also certain that the love, caring and kindness you shared with him will never be forgotten. As a child I "rescued" two box turtles from the wild. Their names were Lou Lou and Pinkie. But after a while our family decided that while they loved their great human adventure, they really missed their turtle pals. And so one sad but happy day, we gave them back to the land. We were always grateful to them for sharing their lives and love with us, if only for a little while. Thanks so much for sharing your sweet story with us all. Now the world knows about the greatly loved and much missed, beautiful turtle named Edd!

Edd, it was a pleasure to meet you on this Sunday morning, I must say your human was very unselfish to care for you and love you all that time and then let you go back to your home in the lake when you needed to. It takes a lot of courage to let one we love go. I also have a dog named Daisy, she is a black Mini Schnauzer, all Daisy's are great dogs aren't they? Thank you for introducing us to Edd, it was our pleasure. Congratulations dear, sweet Edd, whereever you are, Our Very Best Pet of the Day.

Dear little Edd - what a special treat for all of us this Sunday morning. Your brief life with humans sounds as though it was fun and filled with excitement.

What a selfless act for your human to let you go back to the wild to hibernate. It is easy to understand how attached one could become to you.

Where ever you are, we all hope you are well and remembering your experience with as much fondness as we think of you.

So nice to see your cute picture. You brought back fond memories of turtles of my childhood. We have lots of turtles here in Kansas that sadly, get killed trying to cross roads. I have been known to stop the car and carry a turtle across to the other side to safety. I'll think of you next time I see a turtle. Congratulations on being our special Sunday, Pet of the Day.
