    Urgent! Corin needs a home

Corin's was supposed to have already been adopted out, but the adopters never came to get her. She's been at the shelter since, and her feet are just too sensitive to take the concrete floors. They are raw and bloody. We've been putting blankets down for her, matting, but she still manages to get her feet all sore from the concrete. They are putting her down if no one takes her immediately. I got them to give me some time to contact some people and see if anyone could possibly do anything..

"Corin" is a young, female GSD located at the Williams County Humane Society in Bryan, OH. She was found at a park, skinny and scared. She doesn't know her new name yet. She is very sweet, affectionate, and loving. She adores attention and loves to give kisses. She is mellow, and also very sensitive. She knows obedience, but was was mistreated and abused with very harsh training methods. Raising your hands, yelling, and even only speaking commands "sit" or "down" will make her lay her ears flat. But otherwise, she is very friendly with people, and so long as you are patient, kind, and gentle she warms up very fast. She accepts handling, though is again sensitive about being touched around her butt and will lower her ears flat, but there were absolutely no signs of human aggressive. As for other dogs, due to her previous abusive/harsh trainer she does have a negative correlation with other dogs and may raise hair and act slightly aggressive, however this is done simultaneously with reacting as if all she'd like to do is play. When introduced slowly with other dogs, she gets along wonderfully, plays(nicely/gently), and will relax. She is wonderful with cats as well. She would make a wonderful pet for someone that is kind and gentle.

Oh, goodness, she's beautiful! I cannot believe she's been at the shelter for any length of time. Have you tried contacting GSD recue groups?

    I'll do some checking

I'll do some checking to see if there is room here. Is she up to date, spayed, heartworm tested etc.? It would definitely make her easier to place.

She is scheduled to be spayed by this weekend. She has her shots. She is heartworm negative, I'm almost 100% sure on that.

I wish you were closer to where we live. I could get her adopted in no time. Don't know why, just looking at her picture made me want to cry...maybe she reminds me of one of my long ago shepherds.
If I didn't already have dogs I would find a way to take her in, for some reason my heart goes out to her. Just hope she finds a great home.
Hate those byb who put nice dogs like this one in jeopardy.

I have a foster home available for her

We're going to give the shelter a call to see what they need from us to pull her. I have a foster home with GSD experience to take her.

Tessa - if you get on later, feel free to let them know that we will be calling. If we do end up taking her, we would be looking for some help with transport. It is a 6 hour drive each way for us to go out there (although we would do it if necessary).

Fingers & toes crossed here for a good outcome for her. If Clara can
arrange a great foster home, that would be great. She's a beauty.

The humane society is already closed today. I am working tomorrow, but I'm sure you would have already called by the time I get in.

I cannot personally help with transport(I would drive her ALL the way if I needed to help her, but I'm not in the position to do so ), but I will be talking to fellow workers. They've expressed their willingness to help with transportation in the past, I think.

If pitc9 can meet someone, I think we may be able to get someone to hand off Corin to her if she really can help somehow. I can also post on other forums the need for transportation help. In the past I've found people willing to help.

If you need me for anything, it might be better to contact me through email me at [email protected] as well as reply here please. I'm doing my best to help work out not only one dog's transportation to rescue, but two... and right now it is very hard due to circumstances, so I do apologize if I don't reply right away.

Of course I need another one ... but believe it or not, little miss Sierra who is sweet as pie at the dog park, will not allow another female in her yard. NO way, never, never, never! (We've tried a few times)

So Corin would not work out at my house.

But I'd be MORE than happy to drive her from Cleveland to Erie!!

She may have an adoptive home

We called the shelter, and they might have an adoptive home for her. They are going to let us know if it falls through and we will work from there. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Fingers crossed the home works out for her! If not and transport is needed, let me know. I am not too far from Bryan and may be able to help get her to Angie.
