Yesterday another color was added to the rainbow bridge in the form of a feisty little dilute tortie cat named Pebbles.
Pebbles inner strength and power allowed her to stay with us until she celebrated her 22nd birthday.
The last 3 years have been hard on her, but she kept on bouncing back.
I met this wonderful soul almost 9 years ago she was a loving affectionate tolerant beautiful soul then, as she still was today when she peacefully left us for bigger adventures.
I will always remember her sandpaper kisses in the morning when she wanted breakfast, her raiding the fresh cooked dog food for the best pieces of fresh cooked chicken, her pushing her head in the pot when I would try to eat yogurt, or stealing a piece of pasta from my dinner plate.
Pebbles loved the dogs, often getting right up close and sleeping next to them, she was my bed partner sleeping in the prime spot, her head buried in my armpit every night. When it was time for bed I just had to say "cmon pebblies, you and me kiddo, its our time " she would come running and head butt my face, getting as close as she could with out crawling up my nose, although she always managed to get at least 2 whiskers in there. God I missed that last night!
So today there is a massive gaping space where this little 5lb girl once resided, but her spirit is close, and she will always remain in my heart, so while a piece of my heart is missing today, I also feel it has grown because I had the pleasure to love this little 5lb scrap of a cat that no-one wanted.
Enjoy the bridge sweetheart I will see you again one day.
