Yes, I have them. Well, actually, I don't anymore because I don't get to see my dad anymore... but he has some.

Stuart thinks we should raise our own chickens for food. I refuse the idea, because I know that we will end up with either a self serve buffet for the huskies(birds and huskies aren't a good mix!) or we will end up with 100 named, 10 year old pet chickens and still have to buy meat from the grocery store!!

    Yes, I would! =D
Right now we don't live in the right place for chickens, but alot of my friends and other family friends have chickens. The babies are so adorable. ^_^

I agree! I lost my silkies last year to my Sibe. She eyes the chicks I have now, but knows to sit tight in her crate while they are out. It's funny cause she gets so excited she just sits there licking her lips and viberates.

A little cottage near me used to be owned by an elderly man, and I used to love walking past it and watching the chickens scratch around his front porch and lawn. That image sticks with me and to this day reminds me of comfort and peacefulness, so maybe one day I'll buy myself a cottage and some chickens to go with it!

    YES!!!

I've wanted a chicken since i was at least 8 years old. They are actually one of my favorite animals.

Too bad I'm a country girl that's been stuck in the city my whole life. Hopefully I'll be changing that soon enough.

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.

I like chickens, but where I live we can not have them as pets unless we live on a large acre ranch. I am in the suburbs and we have weird rules, no live stock or fowl without a license, and in my town it is pretty hard to get a fowl/live stock license without acredge! One day I will have chickies though. Not for food either. Just as pets.

Yeah, we can't even do beekeeping... even if you live out near the farms.

Sure I would love to have a couple,

I could get fresh eggs but I would NEVER EVER get the chickens chopped.

I think that's kinda crewl when people keep chickens as pets then eat them ....

I would say they are our's, since we feed them and they sleep at our house. But there really our neighbors that don't feed them and take care of them.
Thanks so much Ashley for the siggy!

What kind of chickens are they? It's a shame they don't care for them.

Argranade, I totally agree! I couldn't imagin eating my own pets. The origonal plan with my chicks was to keep the hens and give the roos to the dogs, since they eat Raw. Once I got the chicks though, there was NO WAY my dogs were eating them! The roos will be rehomed on a farm with other chickens.
