Hey, what a porker! Not a rib showin' on that guy. Sara, you sure keep those squirrels fed well.

MOFF--love the ice tea/pillow idea! May I suggest some crumpets to go along with the tea?

Great picture. The squirrels sure love your yard.

  12. So Whose Yard Is It Anyway??

Last evening my husband and I were sitting outside with Edwina enjoying a glass of wine. As dusk fell Edwina went on "full alert" - tail and back fluffed, eye wide. Sure enough...here comes big, fat Raccoon (known as Coonie) ambling out of the bushes.

And in the house we go leaving Coonie to his business -- which I'm sure includes a review of the content of the garbage cans. Never once though has he left the lid up!

One morning my husband went out to get the paper and there was momma Coonie watching proudly as her babies emerged from the garbage can.

We seem to have a virtual widelife center in the back yard!

    What a laugh!

My gosh, you have a wild kingdom thing going there! You may want to get an animal control person to give you some advice. Bird feeders are always an attraction - and my concern would be a rabid raccoon. Of course, if the animal parade is not bothering you, then you have a good thing going.... Just make sure they are not making any attempts to enter your house via chimneys, vents, gutters, etc. etc. My Mom had a family of raccoons in her attic once, and that was not fun at all!

Great pictures - now let's get that Edwina to move her butt and scare away some of these critters.
