    Starling baby

My friend found a young starling (I think that's what he said it was, anyway)
It fell into a 6 foot hole of some sort. There was a cat around so it may have been chased by the cat.

Any ideas how old it may be? He found out what to feed it and stuff, and it lived over night. The goverment stuff isn't open on weekends so he couldn't take it anywhere. He has a friend who knows a lot about this stuff that he is going to see tomorrow. He would like to keep it until it is ready to fly. We assumed that it's probably too young as it's not flying. He was active today and doesn't seem to be afraid of humans. Any info would be nice.

Yes, I know you're suppose to leave it and let nature take its course but I probably would have done the same as he did. The hole itself would have killed it as there was no way out. Even the cat wouldn't have been able to get itself out.

My babies: Josie, Zeke, Kiba, Shadow (AKA Butter)

Aw poor little starling, I'm glad that he saved him, now he will at least have a second chance at life I would have done the same.
