    what do you think?

When i took this guy in 10 months ago i was told he was a Presa Canario(Dogo Canario).Hes now 19 months old. Well he looks like one, acts like one, and has all the same drive/aggression issues not uncommon with the breed. Only problem is that the breed standard for a presa is (roughly)100-130lbs. At 19 months he's weighing in at 95. He isnt as wide as most presas either. I have come to believe that he may have been the runt? It would explain some of his behavioral quirks and his not being quite as bulky as he should be. Frankly hes my dog and i'd love him if he were a apbt/mastiff mix for all i care.

I guess my question was if any of you were familiar with the breed and what your opinions were. Everyone at work thinks hes a presa(im a vet tech), our trainer thinks so as well, along with anyone on the street who asks me " is he a cane corso or a presa, i can never tell the difference".

It may just take him time to bulk up. My german shepherd finally started to fill out at the age of two (she is 2 years old now). Your dog is only 5 pounds under the average and being that he is only 19 months he will most likely make the weight. Either way he is BEAUTIFUL!

I've never heard of that kind of dog but if you said he acts and looks like one then he's probably just a smaller one or maybe he isn't full grown yet??

I love the Presa breed! They are beautiful! He might be like the pit bulls. They really fill out in their second year. I think your dog looks a lot like the Presa. He's a great looking dog! I have a friend, she owns a Presa. She used to post here. Here is a link to one of her posts.http://www.petoftheday.com/talk/show...ght=senorita02 There is a picture of her Presa Rita. She is an absolute beauty! I believe she weighs around 120 lb's.

Welcome to PT. I hope you stick around and post lots more pictures of your boy.

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

My dogs did not bulk up and reach their full weight till the age of 3. (their lines were slow growers)
    Hope that helps some.
