    dogs

I was just wondering... there are so many people on pet talk and so many of them are losing their dogs lately.... So why dont the whole of Pet talk try to rehome some dogs? (Only for America, from pet finder) or something like that- Not very often- but when we find a nice dog on pet finder see if any lovely pet talkers can take it in......... OR help find a dog a home?

That's a good idea. But most of the time when someone loses their animal (especially in a freak accident) it is really up to them when they decide to get another animal. I am sure if anyone asked for PTer's to help them find a pet to rescue they would get tons of responses.
And if I'm not mistaken, I do see a lot of threads showing dogs that need homes. With so many dogs out there that need homes.....it would just be too much.
But your heart is definitely in the right place. Maybe this could be a thread that anyone who'd like help finding a dog can post here and fellow PTer's can help. ??
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Some of the dogs that have been lost have been sick or old. Most of us who are on PT DO adopt needy animals. Sometimes the animals are too far away from us or we already have too many at home. A very hard lesson to learn is that "you can't save them all". Many PTers have gone to extraordinary lengths to save an animal. Unfortunately, sometimes life kicks you in the head and you have to rehome a pet. It is not up to us to condone or condemn, but to help if we can and send good wishes.
