Call me an old fuddy duddy......

but I am becoming increasingly concerned with the number of minors who have pets but do not seem to be able to provide for their basic needs. I'm not singling out anyone here but would say to all parents:

Please give it a lot of thought before you agree to your child bringing a pet home. If you aren't prepared to take on some (if not all) of the responsiblity then please say "No". Doesn't make you a bad parent whatever your kids may say at the time......

By doing this you will be helping to raise a generation of responsible pet owners who not only value the fun and companionship that goes with having an animal but also understand the hard work and effort that goes into keeping said pet healthy and happy.

    Thank you

    Brody's Mum,

I totally agree with you. I had pets growing up and my parents made SURE that we were responsible for the everyday care. They should also teach their children to respect pets, not just tossing them like yesterday's trash once they lose their cuteness.

    Ok ya old fuddy duddy....

But honestly, I am in total agreement. I am honestly worried about the number of pets on here who recently have had problems but the owner is unable to pay for the vet. I understand it can be difficult, and emergencies can arise, so that's not what I mean. I am talking about basic vet care. Maybe this link will help some people, it's for low cost shot clinics that go around to Petcos I believe.

You are so right! My parents make sure I look after my pets and other parents should do the same.
