Rhode Island Trip pics: cool cattle!

I've returned from my trip to Rhode Island. My hubby was driving me around the island looking at interesting things when we came across these bad boys grazing--

Now that's a serious winter coat!

Zoomed in a little closer...

And closer in for a nice portrait. This one was so handsome!

His buddy looked a like he was having a bad hair day.

Then some nice ladies came out from a building and dumped a whole bucket of leftover hamburger buns on the ground. Obviously we weren't very interesting to them anymore!

I looked them up on the internet, they are Scottish Highland cattle, and are considered rare. Quite a surprise to find them living on Aquidneck Island!

We have some of them around here on farms and when we go to certain fairs in the summer They are there. They are really cute, I think all cows are cute though.

Those sure are some woolly cattle! It always seems like cattle are looking in the same direction.

In this case, it was because they knew it was treat time & were both looking at the barn. One gave out quite a bellow when he first saw the people coming up the hill! Years ago, walking through an art museum, my BIL explained to my son that "Cows are in all the best landscapes".LOL!

(I know I don't talk about cows much on here... if ever. Can't help it... I'm more of a canine person.)
