    A walk through Grether woods

    I decided to try out my new camera in the preserve behind the school. Unfortunately I ran out of camera room halfway to the spot I wanted to get. I'm going back out tomorrow for more. I was hoping to catch some seasonal water pools, the woods is full of them and the chorus frogs and woods frogs gather for breeding in April. Its an awesome thing to be standing in the middle of hundreds of singing chorus frogs--but you're lucky if you can even spot one.

    Great big willow tree that was taken down by lightning. Herons still nest in it.

    Turtle stream





    In the early 1900's there was a blacksmith shop and farmhouse out here. Here are some remnants. You can find all sorts of stuff in this part of the woods.

    Cool pictures. They remind of when I lived in Virginia

    I guess the flooding is from melted snow. Sorry if that is a dumb question
