What is the proper name of this item (photo)??

I have tried looking for these hook thingys everywhere & I cannot find them & everyone I talk to looks at me as if I'm retarded or something lol

Back home it was a very common hook thingy, but apparently not out here.

SO if anyone can tell me the proper name, or where I can get them, PLEASE let me know... I really want my bookcase set up, as I have thousands of $$ in books I need to use.

    Thanks

I have no clue about the name, but I think I know what you mean...... like those thingies that they use in petshops of like walmart where you place this metal hook/hanger in a wooden "wall" with like carved stripes...... sorry i don´t know how to call them

maybe you can ask at any store what they call those things

oh oh... or you can go to hope depot or any hardware store

If it's what Husky_mom just described, it's called peg board. You can find them at hardware stores.

I think this is what you're looking for- http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...148&lpage=none

I don't know if it has a proper name, but I think you should be able to find it in the shelving section at your hardware store.

Thats the wrong kind... these hook thingys are only 2cm to 1 inch long.

The metal grid strip thingy goes on the inside of the sides of the bookcase.. it takes 2 strips/side, so 4 hook thingies are needed for every shelf.

In retail, we called them wall brackets..long strips that you put adjustable extensions on to hold either rods between them (for clothes) or shelves on top (for hardlines) or other combinations.

Well, I always called its a "wall standard" because thats what the installers called it. Somehow it just seems wrong, but thats what they called it. I'm no help, am I?
