    Bad News/Good News

For anyone still interested in the on-going health problems of my beloved Killian.........

BAD NEWS: He had to have another tooth pulled today. I can't keep up with all the lost teeth. I think that was his 7th!

GOOD NEWS: His liver enzymes have gone down a bit!! They stopped rising!! WoooHooo!

Killi I am sorry about your poor mouth, buddy. I know you can't be a ferocious GSD with no teeth, but that's OK, you can still PRETEND you are ferocious

Honestly I am sorry about your teeth, Killi friend. I hope you are OK, sweet boy. I'll still love you no matter how many teeth you get removed, remember that.

I am, however, relieved at your enzyme level. That's good news and I hope you keep it up.

Go Killi, Go Killi, Go Killi

doing. I want to think that this latest Good news kind
of outweighs the Bad.? Does he still eat O.K.? Hope
Killian's mouth isn't to sore from the extraction.
Bless his heart !!! You, Killian & Shiloh are always in
    my prayers. Liz & Buddy.

We haven't forgotten about you Killian and are happy for your mom's update. That's really good news about your enzyme levels! Sorry about your toofy but there's nothing worse than a bad tooth to spoil a good meal. Hope you're feelin' a little better after all of that pokin' and proddin' in your mouff!

Wow, Killian, do I detect some tasty easy-to-chew food made special by your momma? I know that is not a good reason to have a tooth out! But at least something pecific can be done to help a sweetie like you - even if you have to be uncomfy for a while.

Keep being strong, both of you!

Oh, Sue, I can't help but think that you have given us wonderful news!! There are things he can continue to eat whether he has teeth or not. But the enzymes!! What a milestone for you both.

    I'm happy.

The enzyme level was really bonus good news!! They are still higher than they should be (4-5x higher), but at least they stabilized. I was scared that they were going to continue to rise and that's when all the horrible parts of the disease come into play. My toothless wonder (as I'm beginning to call him) will be able to eat because I do home-cooking for him and the food is soft. He still has his big fangs (canines), so he looks fine. It seems that he averages the loss of one tooth a year.

Our vet said we're doing something right to bring down the levels. Cooking for Killian is paying off!

Of course we are interested in Killian's health. And I agree with the others, the good news certainly outweighs the bad. The main thing is that Killi's enzymes are stable. And that's wonderful news!

I'm glad the good news was more important than the bad news...teeth are important, but the liver thing is more!! Way to go Killi!!!

Fantastic pic!!!! Star, you are such a cutie!!! You made me laugh!!

Yeah, I can't believe that his enzymes went down to almost last year's level. That is so encouraging! If they just stay where they are, he should be able to hang on for quite a while, I should think! Can never get too overconfident with this disease, though, but for now, I feel good...........!!!!!
