What Does 10 or more of Snow look like?

We received at least 10 inches of snow between Tuesday and Wednesday. The wind kept blowing it around so it made for very uneven snowdrifts which makes it much harder to decide the exact amount. Carl works in Toledo about 50 miles from here so he went to Amy's (Cincy's Mom) to stay while I stayed at home. Here are some of the pictures I took.

    The van didn't completely disappear

How does an old lady get that much snow off her driveway?

Relies on the kindness of good neighbors who have snowblowers

He didn't get the walk done so Carl still has some work ahead of him

And how did the dogs do with the snow?

The way the snow was blowing left an area in the back yard that was only about an inch deep for the first 2 1/2 feet outside the back yard. Thank God! I don't know what I would have done if the back yard was like the front where I couldn't even open the front door.

    It didn't stop Snoopy

Dazzi didn't do bad but Pippi almost got lost in it.

Taggert likes the snow so he didn't mind going out

Jack abolutely doesn't like snow or cold so he was in and out so fast that I couldn't get any pictures of him!

    That is crazy.

Excuse my ignorance (Florida girl here) but where do you shovel the snow to?

Staci, I was shocked but none of them rolled in it. I think they are all getting too old! Pippi tried chasing them around the yard but she couldn't get anyone going. And she was too fast for me to catch any pictures of her. She started running in circles by herself. It was too funny!

You put it on a HUGE pile somewhere near your driveway, out of your way so it can sit there till it melts in the Spring!

My hubby and I shoveled 18'' out of our driveway yesterday... the snowpile is over the mailbox!

Wow! We certainly didn't get that much here. Maybe 4 inches, but some of the drifts were about a foot.

Looks like the pups had fun!

See the drift in front of the boy? You just keep adding it wherever you can!

And by the way, this is a really heavy snow so it is quite heavy to move. It is also so cold that it tends to want to come up in big blocks which is again way heavy. Sometimes snow is lighter and wetter and easier to shovel. Lifting this heavy snow is one reason older people up this way sometimes have heart attacks in the winter. It is a very aerobic excercise and really gets your heart rate up there!

Thanks for the info. I thought you might just pile it up somewhere but I wasn't sure. I would be lost up there.

LOL Just be thankful you aren't in parts of New York. Some places got snow squalls up to 12 feet

We got quite the storm here yesterday and Tuesday. but I can't tell you how deep because then we got freezing rain and the snow is solid now... even I don't fall through.

R.I.P my dear Sweet Teddy. You will be missed forever. We love you.
