I was really, really upset reading that some of the animals were going to be euthanized, so I went to the shelter this morning in Jersey City.
The good news is that many of the animals had been adopted and some were waiting for other rescue groups to come pick them up! One little guy was waiting for his new owner to come pick him up on Sunday (I was so overjoyed to see that, he looked so sad).
As I was leaving, a man came in and took out a beautiful Terrier mix named Daffy---and I think him and his wife were going to take him.
I can't take another dog home to my apartment, it is too small, so I donated money to help pay for transportation and supplies, which they said would help.
The shelter is getting a new manager next week, and that should help that someone will be there 98% of the time. They are also building a new dog run out back.
