To All The Fine People In This Community

From: donsperry (Original Message) Sent: 6/23/2002 10:35 AM
I want to say thank you from the bottom Of my heart to each and everyone who posted in this community about the tragic ordeal Daisy and Perry went thru.
If it wasn't for your ongoing ,love prayers and support I really don't think they would have made it as far as they have, including Jackie and myself.
They both seem to be holding there own now,I'm sure Jackie has put enough pictures in to bore you,but we wanted you to see, what love and prayer will do.
I know I have not been on the community as much as I should have these past couple of weeks, and I feel Like an RN,but will try to get back to to normal this week.
We take Daisy in to the Vet about the middle of the week to get her stiches out,I think she will do fine, just anxious to see what the leg will look like compared to what it did.It was really sickening to see it before.
Well once again I want to thank you all.You are truly the best friends and supporters a person would ever want.
Thank you and God once again.
    Don!

Don, believe me it was nothing! You and Jackie are dear friends and just like family. We felt as though this had happened to one of our very own dogs and it cast a big dark cloud over Pet Talk for a while, but prayers were going up by the hundreds! Thankfully God honored those prayers and Daisy and Perry are on the road to recovery. We just want you and Jackie to be able to relax a little now that the worst seems to be over. I know it has been hard on you both physically and emotionally and am hoping that Jackie will soon be feeling much better herself. It's nice to see you posting at Pet Talk now! Hope to hear more from you in the future. Love, Pam, Bella and the kitties

Even though i don't know you personally, i was very touched and concerned about your furbabies. It broke my heart to hear what happened to them. Although their injuries were serious, it could have been much much worse. I'm so relieved that they are on the road to recovery. I could only imagine how traumatic this could have been for the two of you. Like others have said. now it's time for you to relax, take a deep breath, as the worse is over now, and continue to enjoy your furkids. Believe me when i say that i was not bored by seeing the pictures of Daisy and Perry, but was very touched by them. I hope you continue to post more so we can continue to see the healing of prayer.
Take care to all of you.

Like Lorraine, I also don't know you , but it has been so touching to read about Perry and Miss Daisy. I have seen lots of pics of them (and by the way Don, we are NEVER bored/tired here to see pics ) and they are both adorable. I was so touched by what happened to these lil ones, and sure am glad that they are both pulling thru now.

I hope you and Jackie can have a bit of rest now too.

    Hugs from us all

This event, as horrible as it was, proved once again what a wonderful community we have here. It was so hard to see those two babies so badly injured, but so great to see them on the mend. I bet even the mailman missed being barked at while they were away!

So glad you and Jackie were able to keep us up-to-date with everything, so we knew which direction to slant our prayers toward at any given moment!

    **********

    I wonder what God thought
    When suddenly, from many languages,
    Many countries, many hearts and
    Many religions,
    God was bombarded with prayers
    for two little dogs.

Just an armful apiece, but when
They were attacked, how brave was Perry
So strong and true, that all our hearts
    Swelled with prayer

    "Oh, God, please heal him,
    for he tried so hard
and kept Miss Daisy as safe as he could.
    and God, while we're asking,
    please heal her, too,
    Make her better and able
To jump up to the big bed,
even thought it drives Carrie nuts ...

    Please, God?"

And over again, maybe some of the angels
Seeing these prayers comne flooding in,
Wondered - "Who are these dogs?
Why are so many prayers coming in?"
    And they looked,
and asked the dog-angels to explain.

And oh, so proudly, those dog-angels told
And will repeat, again and again,
Of dainty Daisy and stalwart Perry,
Of struggle, and pain, and valor
    Of survival

And the sadder tail of the negelected one
    Who so angrily lashed out,
The dog-angels will pray their own barked prayers
    For that dog, too,
That he might be given love, and understanding
    And protection from the world
    And protection for the world

    But the dog-angels know,
    And the other angels learn

    Of Daisy and Perry

    And how love takes many
    Many
    Many
    forms.

P.S. I think my mama lives
    wherever the dog-angels are
and my grandma sneaks them biscuits
    and my great-aunts and uncles,
    the generation before, feed,
    and hold, and skritch
    all the right spots
    in as many dog-angels
    as they can fond.
    all the dog-angels they can.

Don, welcome aboard!! It's nice to see yet another spouse posting. We didn't do anything that you and Jackie wouldn't have done for any of us, so don't mention it. I think all of us would have loved to have come out and helped you guys.

Again, we're glad to have you here.

    Don ,

I'm so glad that you will be popping in to post on PT
more often now. I wish we had more guys as "regulars"
around here. It's always nice to get a man's perspective
on things. As for the prayers and good wishes for Perry
Daisy & family; that's what good friends do for each other.
We cry together, and we rejoice together. It's very good
to finally meet Jackie's other half Kiss the furkids for me.

Don and Jackie, I have had company all weekend, so couldn't get on the board for any length of time, until now.

You cannot imagine what it is like to sit here all by yourself, staring at your computer monitor with tears streaming down your checks and your stomach turned inside out after reading of the horrible events for you both and Daisy and Perry.

I have tried to follow the events all week and have turned my prayers of hope and need into ones of great gratitude.

What is wonderful about God is that the lines are never busy or jammed and you are never put on hold - so as a huge chorus all of us got together and prayed for Daisy and Perry.

What a week you both have had and the news that both dogs were home with you was just the best.

There is just something about the four of you that has captured all of our hearts, well before this awful event. So it came very naturally to care so much and pray so hard.

And head bunny, Karen, is right, the other dog needs our prayers too - and the owners need our prayers.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if every animal on the earth had Moms and Dads as wonderful and loving as both of you?

Fondly, Gini (and Rascal) and prayers will continue for a speedy recovery for Daisy and Perry.

Don, sorry I couldn't reply to your post before now, as I have been busy. Let me say, I too think it's great to have another man on the board not too many of them around here! I'm so happy to hear Daisy & Perry are on the mend and at home resting comfortably. Take care & visit us asap & keep us posted of those furbabies of yours!

Don you and Jackie have been through so much and believe me we are all so very grateful that your beautiful babies were able to pull through this horrible ordeal. Prayers continue to flow until both Perry and Daisy are their ole selves again. So sorry you had to go through this due to stupidity of others. I pray to God it never, never happens again. God Bless you both and your little ones.

I'm just here to say thank you again, Karen that was so beautiful that I printed it and put it on my bulletin board. All of you have been so kind, things are still looking very good, Perry goes in this week for a checkup, and Daisy will go in soon for stitches removed.
We saw in the news that another pitbull just got into an elderly ladies yard and attacked her little dog and she tried to protect it and didn't hear all the particulars yet.
Don enjoyed PetTalk very much and all the people on here, he can be quite the talker. lol
I'm amazed at how Perry and Daisy are recovering, Daisy on her three legs is faster than I can go, I never thought I'd see that day. Perry just wants to eat, eat, eat. lol Right now I'm singing the HAPPY SONG. lol
