Have you thought about crate training him??? Seems like this would be an only option, since you cannot confine him to a single room, since he can open doors.

yes we have used a crate,he barks continously and my neighbor complains,we alowed him to bark for 1 whole day,and he did not stop, its like he knows, lil stinker.but hes 3 years old you would think he would know better, but he dont hes the night stalker.he loves to sip from the toilet to even though ya put the lid down he still sips and then gets in my bed on my pillow with toilet watered ears, closing the bathroom door is not an option for he opens it,i think he likes toilet water more than his own,its probly colder but who knows, lol.ty for yur reply i so appreciate it.

He sure is a smart dog.

I think in this case, drastic measures are needed. Since he disturbs the neighbors when you crate him, how about trying this.

Take him to doggy daycare and ask them to keep him in a crate for a couple of nights. He might get used to it if he has no choice. And when you bring him home, keep him in a crate next to your bed at night. Check with your vet about a sleep aid for him; or at least a relaxant of some sort.

I have to keep my dog on a leash tied to my bed so he won't wander at night, but at least he doesn't cause the trouble yours does. He has, however, chewed my headboard.

Maybe you can teach him to do the laundry and wash the dishes while you sleep

My dog Pheobe used to open refrigerator doors, house doors, car doors, to door to our shed, the trunk on our car, and the gate...but I don't know how to solve this problem...very smart dog.

Really easy fix if your door knobs are round. If they are lever style, of course this won't work. People can open them, dogs can't. You can also put a safety latch on any cupboards with dangerous chemicals and on the fridge. Use regular childproofing methods to keep things closed and this will greatly cut down on his ability to open door, etc. You can find a vast array of door knob covers, safety latches, and other items to prevent him from doing this.

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!
