Hair ball remedy, you can get it from the vet of pet stores.

    Pumpkin!

Yes, the stuff from last night. My Lucky has terrible hairballs, we tried everything on the market without success. My vet the recommended the pumpkin. He loves it!

Every morning he gets about a teaspoon of it, and so far - no hairballs!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a big can, then divided it up into smaller containers. Most of it is in the freezer, and I have 1 small container in the fridge.

I swear by it, and it is much cheaper than all the products out there~

If you end up using a petroleum-based hairball remedy (nearly all of them are), be sure to give it between meals, or it'll keep your cat from being able to absorb important vitamins A, D, and E, and essential fatty acids.

If your cat won't eat a "lickable" (like mine won't), try Purina Pro Plan anti-hairball treats. They get two dewclaws up from Smudge!

Hmm, never would have thought of Mayonnaise.

Anyway, if it were me, I'd go to the vet or pet-store for some hairball remedy.

I have used Petromalt for years with success. I buy it from ThatPetPlace online. Sometimes if I have a lot of time I will do some searches to find it cheapest on the internet. It comes in malt and fish flavors.

Several of my cats love it and lick it right off the tube.

Several of my cats only like the fish flavor.

And some of my cats clamp their mouths shut tight. I smear it on the upper lip and let the cat lick it off. I tried the paw smear which is what the tube directions suggest. The cat just flicks her paw and the stuf goes flying for me to find another day.

There are other similar products like Laxatone, same idea.

Most of my cats get it once a week. Chestnut needs it twice week, but that is to prevent constipation, not hairballs.

Recently I tried the haird ball food in the same brand I normally buy. With 7 cats, I was looking for something less time consuming (once i start with the tube, 4 of them go into hiding). That works well for 5 of them, gives 2 of them diarrhea.

"You can't please all of the **cats**" . . . . . So find what works best for you and your cats.
