Injured baby Pearlscale Goldfish at work

I arrived early at work today (Walmart - I'm a cashier), so I decided to go look at the Betta's & other fish. I was just about to leave when I saw a tank with Pearlscale and Pond Goldfish.

There were about 10 Pond GF and 4 PS, one was just a tiny little guy - probably younger than the rest.

The Pond GF were pushing it around, ripping at his fins, biting him .. I don't if fish can bruise, but his colouring looked like it had bruises or blemishes from the fish.

I was getting really ticked off waiting for someone in Pets to come along - and when they finally did I let him have it.

I said, "Can you please remove that little guy from the tank?? He's clearly being bullied by the Pond GF and while the two breeds may be able to live together in harmony, he's TOO YOUNG to be in there with the Pond GF. They're biting at him - it's extremely sad to watch."

So the man said, "Alright, we'll get him out of there."

I didn't stay to watch, but I checked back after work and they removed ALL of the Pearscale GF. I'm so happy.

I will, however, be keeping my eye on that tank from now on.

    Good job!!
I'm glad the man did as asked without giving some kind of lame excuse as to why they're together and such.

From his injuries it sounds like he has septicemia or another disease. Its probably best to put him down so the other fish don't catch anything.
