Outdoor Spraying

My 2 fixed male cats live great in the house together untill we got a screen door where they can look out. Well the youngest picks a fight with my other cat. Went to vet and suggusted using this plug in air fresher that lets out cat phermones to calm them. It works. Also spray I sprayed a cat repellent outside the screen door. That worked for awhile untill today when I smelled
strong urine spray from a outdoor cat. The spray was close to the door. The cats are fighting again. Help is there anything I can do to deter a outdoor male cat from spraying outside my house.

The only thing I can think might help is a citrus spray. Apply to your porch and anything near the door as often as you can. Maybe this will encourage the outside cat to go somewhere else. Or possibly a couple of moth balls in an old nylon (anchored) could be left on the porch for a couple of days. Cats don't like the smell (who does?) and they won't be able to move it. You'd have to endure the odor until the cat stopped coming around, but it should work.

PetCo (and probably other stores) sell a spray called cat repell. Just ask the workers. It seemed to work for us 2 years ago, keeping strays out of our garden. Says you have to re-apply after a rain. We just used it twice, when we had a few clear days forecast, to train them not to go there. If I recall, you spray a 6 inch wide path.


You may want to look into something like that.

My moms neighbors have a female cat that already has kittens, and I believe shes pregnant again.. Plus the people that live across the road from her have a female cat that just recently had kittens and some cat in the neighborhood has been squaling like its in heat... Since one of the momma cats come over here and hang out all the time there has been a male cat spraying on my moms porch. It's really nasty.. I gag every time I go outside after it has sprayed.

I know that has nothing to do with your situation, but for some reason I felt the need to share..lol.

That cat repell sounds like a good idea too. I'll try that too.
