I don't think there is a need to call a vet asap, my advice would be to watch and see how it gets and if he starts to show anymore symptoms.

My orangie, Chestnut, constantly has leaky eyes, they get kind of dark and wet on the inner corners. It shows up a LOT due to his coloring. He's been like this for years; often ask the vet, different vets different years. They all say it is normal for him!
Just keep a watch on it and see if maybe the kitty just has a little cold that it can fight off in a day or 2 or 3.
.
I would say over active tear ducts. No worrys unless it looks infected. My Collie Girl Kandie has over active tear ducts. Looks like she is crying sometimes but she is one of those over joyed collies. lol Just invest in the eye wipes.

Watch for any sneezing or goup in his eyes and / or nose. If so, he probably has an upper respiratory infection and will need some medicine from the vet. If it stays watery with nothing colored or goupy, then it may just be allergies!![]()

My Starr also has this and I think it's just allergies. He seems to have very sensitive eyes and I also think that the litter that I use may also be affecting his eyes. I just try to clean his eyes as much as I can. Good luck. I hope it's nothing serious.![]()

I had a cat, Marina Mar, whose right eye was always running. My vet said that most strays always have some kind of runny eye syndrome. He told me to just keep it clean with a warm wash cloth. Unless there is sneezing and runny noses involved, it's nothing to worry about.

Runny eyes can be an exposure to the URI, a virus of the herpes variety.
You can treat the symptoms with an antibiotic ointment such as Terramycin or BNP. It clears up quickly.
Better yet, for chronic runny eyes you can get L-lysine powder and put it in the food.
Check with your vet.
