Hello sweet Jake, I love your beautiful butterfly ears. Aren't those seed stealing squirrels the worst! I know you must keep your yard well guarded from such thievery. Glad you and your loving family found each other. Many hugs and treats for you pretty boy. Congratulations on being our DOTD.

Jake, what a sweet, pretty face you have! Kudos to your parents for adopting an adult dog--they really are the best behaved, most appreciative and so deserving of good homes. Of course you've proven yourself to be the best choice they could have made when they were looking for a special dog to adopt. Congratulations on being Dog of the Day!

    Sweet Jake

Jake's person wrote: "We have conversations about everything, and he is quite the listener. I think the most special thing Jake has brought to our house is the importance of enjoying every day to the fullest. Every moment of every day is an adventure to be met with a bounce, a bark, and a doggy smile."

I have a neighbor upstairs who has a Papillon and I totally agree with the above! I'm convinced that my neighbor's dog knows that her role in life is to make people smile. She greets me (and all the neighbors) with tail wags and the "pet me" look and makes everybody happy.

Congratulations to you, dear Jake on Dog-of-the-Day! I hope you and your people have many more enjoyable adventure days together. Anytime you want to come to Illinois and share your doggy skills, my welcome mat is out!

Jake: 'So nice to see someone who lives "across the river" from us! Our pooch is from a rescue organization too, so we know just how it is, to give these precious canine's a good home

Your human wrote a grrrrrreat bio about you--had me grinning from ear to ear.

Your Mom is so right Jake...we don't choose our furkids, they choose us! And what a fine job you did sweet baby boy in selecting your forever home! Your Mom may have thought a Pappilion wasn't in her future but you proved her wrong Jake, didn't you? As your family so wisely tells us, the rescue route is definitely the way to go and you are living proof of that! Handsome, talented, athletic, joyful and loving; who could ask for more in a furkid! And we humans would do well to follow your example Jake, enjoy life and each and every day to it's fullest! Congratulations to you precious Jake, our extra special and most deserving Dog of the Day! Hope you and your proud peeps are enjoying an extra special, extra fun filled "top dog" bash! Hugs and kisses to you, sweetheart!

I definitely agree that older dogs should be considered--we adopted our Lefty when he was over 6, and we've enjoyed our time with him immensely!

Jake, you are such a cute little doggie! You look so contented and happy to be in the sunshine. Your mom is lucky to have you to listen to all her hopes and dreams. You are a great companion, Jake, and a great DOTD!

    Thanks Everyone!

    Hi,
This is Jake's Mom. I just wanted to let everyone know how kind you are all were with your comments. I did not know that he had been chosen until a day later, so would have been quicker to post had I known.
He has truly been a great friend, and he has two other cohorts who are just as wonderful. As most have pointed out, adult dogs are excellent companions, and I am certain we will always go the adult dog route in the future!
Thanks again for all the support!
