A little concerned about my baby..

This morning when Bailey and I got up he took a few steps and than started coughing. Not a cough like he was going to throw up and not really a dry heave it was more a rattling in it. This lasted for about a minute or so and afterwards seemed fine.. acted normal all day.. everything's good, except that he has this smell about his breath that smells...not really acidic but.. I don't know how to explain it other than it's not his normal doggie breath. It may be nothing but I don't know. Please just keep him in your prayers. If it gets worse I'll be sure to get him to the vet and let you all know. Thanks.

Hm.. could the cough be Kennel Cough? I'm not sure about the smelly breath. Might want to give a call to the good ol' vet.

The bad breath and the coughing may be connected. Dogs with bad teeth or infections in their gums can develop a cough and other infections, sometimes very serious.

Has your dog had it's teeth checked recently? It may be time for a dental cleaning. Sometimes other illnesses can show with signs of bad breath. If it were my dog, I'd take it to the vet just for a check up anyways and also have the teeth checked. It's always better to be safe, than sorry.
