Lizzie do not read this( I mean it!)

I swear I am not posting this for you Lizzie but I feel I have to pass this on if it already isn't too late for this cat.

GA: FIV+ cat needs indoor home or foster home ASAP!

Good samaritan in Atlanta area found a cat and planned to keep it as an outdoor cat. Her family is severely allergic to cats so it can't be indoors. She had it tested & vaccinated at her vet (it is already spayed). The test was + for FIV.

The cat is currently living outdoors. Anyone fostering an FIV+ cat that would like a friend or know of anyone who would adopt????? The cat is shelter bound by end of the week if placement is not found.

DMH blue F, 2-4 yrs old, spayed, UTD

People who come to know me well, and that's very few, eventually realize that the very best way to get me NOT to do something, is to suggest that I do it. Ergo, if they tell/advise/suggest I not do it, then I do it.

So, here I am. However, I'm not making the decision on this cat, my downstairs cats are, and they say they can't take anymore. Also, if I was going to take in another FIV+ cat, it would be Onyx who is in my local humane society shelter, which is low kill, but still not no-kill.

She sounds lovely, obviously someone abandoned her if she is already spayed.

I don't understand why they don't allow her to live outside. Obviously, she is at greater risk for infections, etc., but she's going to have her life cut even more abruptly short if she goes to the shelter, and the people who are allergic could keep an eye on her outside. It takes a significant bite for FIV transmission to take place and if she's not challenged on her territory, and she not going to take part in mating any more, then she won't pass it on.
