This story was in the news last night & this morning as Animal Care & Control
try to get the word out to the public. Don't call them unless a stray is vicious.
Makes you wonder if people even listen anymore to the spay & neuter
messages.![]()
One man was interviewed said his dog ran out of his yard
when neighbors set off fireworks. When he went to look for her at the pound
she had already been put down.![]()

Indianapolis Cute K-9's are part of an ugly problem at Animal Care and Control.
"We are over capacity. We have nowhere else to put them," said Media Wilson of animal control.
So full now because un-spayed animals are now having their homeless litters.
"A population explosion, " says Wilson.
So many strays coming in Animal Control Officers now are not picking them up. So, if someone calls Animal Control, unless it's vicious they won't be out to pick it up.
"Any animal that is aggressive or threatening, definitely call us. We will come out to it, we will definitely come out to it right away," Wilson said.
Also, animals not claimed in four days will be put down, no time extensions.
20 thousand animals come through here every year, 14 thousand are euthanized.
"Spay and neuter, spay and neuter, spay and neuter." says Wilson.
Some may soon be adopted but as we were leaving nine more puppies arrived.
