Cats who have been on the street, will by nature fear other Cats, as on the street these other Cats will take food or shelter from them.
Once she realizes that lots of food, and they get used to her, I think that Jasmine will calm down, and be part of your clowder, Carla.
Tubby 2 is still a little leary, and wont eat,if one of the other Cats approach.
But hes getting better, and curls a lot with Michael and Princess.

She's so pretty! I'm glad to hear she is gaining some much needed weight and doing well. Hopefully she will come around to the other cats soon.
How about the kittens?
From Decker with Love
Gary is right, it will take a while for her to realize that there will always be food so she doesn't have to fight for it. Our Peaches is a rescue. A pure-bred Abyssinian, she was found in a feral colony in the Silverlake district of Los Angeles. The vet figured she was seven months old and probably been on the street for several months. She was scratched up, missing a tooth, had some bite damage to her right ear and had been spayed in her previous life. It took her months to stop grabbing food and running off with it so she could gobble it up without competition but she finally figured it out. It's always there. Now its only shrimp that she acts "feral" over; she's totally goofy for shrimp. Otherwise she has settled into the housecat life. Three and a half years later and she won't even go out the door probably fearing she'll get lost again and she's not ready to give up her lifestyle.

Jasmine has a look of total bliss on her face.Is she still a bit oily? I'm so happy she's putting on much needed weight now after her spay.

WOW Carla! She is BEAUTIFUL!!!!~! I could look at her all day and she would get so tired of hearing me tell her how pretty she is (like I do Giz). She looks happy and contented in that picture like she knows she has it made now!
After about a year of gobbeling up all the food in sight, Samantha finally slowed down and started eating like a normal kitty and I knew she would never be a big cat because of her pitiful start in life with her other Mommie. The first thing I noticed when I got home this time is that she is gaining weight and filling out more. Jasmine will continue to bloom like Samantha has.

We washed her twice with Dawn dishwash soap and warm water in the kitchen sink. She was so good about it.The vets told me to use Dawn.Otherwise I would never use any kind of soap without asking the vet first. They said that's the only soap to get the oil out.She must of been freezing with that oil on her back. It's like having no fur at all when people do that. And then keeping them out doors unspaded and underfed.(Stupid idiots)Originally Posted by QueenScoopalot

I"m so glad to hear she's gaining weight and doing so much better. Of course, I would be surprised to hear anything else while she's under your expert care.![]()

Tubby once got into some oil in the garage. It was mostly on his tail, but my vet told me to use Dawn also. It's one of the best soaps to cut the grease, and as long as you don't use it on them on a regular basis, there's no harm in a bath or two....especially since having the oil on them is so much worse.
