Weimeraner and Catahoula or Aussie mix needing homes

A friend of mine talked to me a couple of days ago. Apparently because of some marital problems they are losing their house and are having to rehome their two dogs. I said I'd try to help her in finding them a new home. I don't have any pics of them yet, but I have some information. One dog is Heidi she's a 2 year old purebred weimeraner, female, not spayed. The other is Aussie, a 5 year old catahoula leopard dog or aussie mix, she isn't sure what she is she was adopted from a shelter. She's blue merle and white and I think one of her eyes is blue. She has shorter hair and she is spayed. It's been a while but I have met both dogs and they are very sweet and beautiful. They were primarily outdoor dogs with inside access to a porch attached to the house, so they may not be completely house trained yet. I think they would be fine adopted separately. She is offering them for free (yes I know this isn't the best idea) to good homes. She said she has about 2 months before they *must* be at new homes. If anyone is interested please let me know. I'm going to contact some local rescue groups as well. The dogs are located in Utah.

Do you think you could convince her to get Heidi spayed before giving her away? I see some possible bad things coming out of that, especially if she's free.

Yeah I'll try. I actually thought she was spayed, she gave me a flyer about them and I didn't read it until she left and noticed that. I'm wondering if she'd surrender them to the local lab rescue, that way Heidi would have to be spayed. The only problem is they require a surrender fee of $75 for unspayed and $50 for spayed dogs and I don't know if they can afford that. They would definitely find good homes with that rescue though.
