    Rat Question

I have to call the vet today. Max has a growth on his chest that pretty much appeared over night. I was just playing with him the other night and it wasnt there. Now it's about the size of a large gumball. I am beside myself with worry and don't want to lose him. He is eating and drinking fine. Playing too and dosen't seem to be in pain.
Anyone been through this that can give me some advise? I just don't want the vet to convince me to put him down if there is something that can be done.
    Thanks

i'm sure your vet will tell you all your options, whatever this lump may be. how old is your rat? i know it's common for older rats to get tumors.

    good luck!

Well I called him and and am waiting for the Dr. to call back.

I hope Max will be alright.

Well the Dr. said he can remove it but it will most likely come back within 6 months. So I guess as long as he isn't in pain or lethargic, I might just let him be for now.

To answer your earlier question Max is just over a year old.
