Living in an apartment- pics included

My brother and his girlfriend broke up and they are both moving out of their current house. My brother is taking his Boxer pup (about 1 year) and his cat, Yegger. How do Boxers do in apartments? He knows they are an active breed and knows that it will be more work without a yard. Pictures of Soul below!

I think he will be ok, as long as your brother gives him the proper exercise. My brother also has a boxer...I think he is about a year now too.. and he lives in a TINY apartment with his wife. The do take their pup, Dude, out a lot, and he was very well trained the last time I saw him...(about a year ago) He is very interesting.. my brother taught him in German (or whatever langauage they use with police dogs) so you have to say different things, you can't just say, sit, lay down..etc. I hope everything works out!

Well, my dogs don't often run around my house or the yard so I know they could probably live in an apartment. They just need a lot of exercise (walks, off leash time at a near by dog park or field, etc.) away from home. I don't know a whole lot about Boxers but if my Border Collie mix would be able to live in one given the proper exercise requirements I'm pretty sure a Boxer could too. Does Soul's owner have a lot of time to give to her?

Of course, this is just my opinion and others totally disagree with active breeds in apartments.

If your brother knows Soul(who is a total cutie!)needs more excerise then usual, I think he'll be fine. Take the dog to the park and for regular walks. Maybe play a game of fetch once in a while. Does the apartment have a run for dogs or something? If so, this will also help.

the boxer should be fine as long as he gets enough exersize. i had Gracie in a top floor apartment for her first 6 months. we had LOTS of husky puppy energy to run off.
    Owned by two little pastries!

REST IN PEACE GRACIE. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON'T MISS YOU.
