Pics of my Dad and Grandfather

I got a wonderful surprise in the mail today; a picture of my grandfather in his WWI uniform. That set me to playing with my camera.

The first picture is of my dad and our dog, Mickey. It's got to be my favorite picture of Mickey. He was watching Dad pick out pecans. This is a page in my scrapbook. Mickey is telling Dad: "Any nut you drop, is MINE!!!".

The other picture is the one I just got in the mail today of my granfather Alfred Hedges. It was taken in 1917.

The picture of my grandfather was a complete surprise.
A second cousin sent it to me. We had met over the internet while doing family history research. Her grandmother and my grandfather were brother and sister. She just got the picture from another second cousin and sent it to me. I'm just amazed!!!

That's incredible! You just met her online! What are the chances of that?!!
I'd quite like to do some research into family history, but I don't know how to go about it. Must be interesting.

Oh MOFF, I'm just seeing this now. How wonderful that you had those pictures sent to you. Mickey looks adorable. And that is so great that you connected with distant relatives over the Net.

I have a full album of old pictures like that. There is one of my Dad's Mom who I never knew and my middle name is the same as hers. I'm told we have the same purrsonality....not sure exactly what that means.

    Congrats MOFF.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

What a wonderful surprise to receive these in the mail. And that's amazing that you met a cousin over the internet.

Moff, do you have nieces or nephews that you can pass on these pictures to?

I have to get busy and duplicate the old photos that I have.

I love the photos of your Dad in uniform too.
