Echocardiogram tomorrow...wish me luck! [UPDATE next post]

As some of you know, I was diagnosed with a heart murmur a few weeks ago. Old thread here . I have an echo tomorrow to see how bad it is, and see if they need to treat it, or just leave it alone. I'm sort of nervous, so I need some good vibes. Has anybody else had one of these? I'll update you tomorrow when I get home, and when I have the results! Thank you so much everybody, in advance!

I have not had one of those, but rest easy. They're professionals, and they know what they're doing.

I've had one. It wasn't bad, but the gel they use is very cold! It also took a long time. I was glad when it was over.

    Good luck!!

Good luck with the echocardiogram. As long as they warm the gel before they slop it onto your chest, you should find the whole thing lacks any discomfort. I say that because I had an breast ultrasound once and they didn't warm the gel - brrrr! They may be able to show you images of your heart as they do the test, which is kind of wierd seeing into your body in black and white. Let us know what happened when you get back.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers everybody!

The test was about 25 minutes, and he let me watch the screen and everything. It was a little different having a guy do it, especially when I've never had a guy have to do something in "that area" O well, it was all good. He didn't say much, but explained to me what everything was. My doctor is not going to be in to work tomorrow, so I won't know how it went tell Monday/ Tuesday. I'll update you all again when I find out! Thanks again everybody!

Wondering what the results of your test were. I had one years ago and my mitral valve prolapse did not *show up* which was a good thing because it meant it was not a serious one. I'm going to have another one next week to see if there has been any change since I've had the last one.
