Would you believe that Luna is still nursing Lily?

Here's the proof:

Please keep in mind that Luna is NOT Lily's biological mother, and that Lily will be 3 in May - but she's still suckling at least once a day, I think.

It's always Lily who wants that, and Luna will play the mother role willingly. Isn't it cute?

Awwwwwwww Kirsten, how sweet!!! Lily is such a sweet momcat, hey! In fact my Maya is doing the same thing for little Snoopy: she allows her to suckle as well

Hi Kirsten, You've mentioned this before and, believe me, I never doubted you for a second. Lily and Luna really seem to get along well with each other. Is this common in multi-cat homes?

I don't know how common it is, but it does happen. Lut has mentioned above that her Maya is nursing little Snoopy, too. And I heard it from others as well, but the suckling kitty was always younger. I have really no idea how common it is for cats of Lily's age! LOL

My little Caramel who is 1 attemps to suckle on Coco (female 15) all the time but Coco has no of it and hisses and growls! Poor Caramel!

How sweet. They sure do love each other.

My Storm acts like a mother to both Pearl and Starr and will wash them but so far no nursing has taken place.

When a stray kitten was dropped off at my grandmother's farm, we found him nursing on a small shepherd mix spayed female dog that had also been dropped off at the farm and adopted. Candy, the dog, nursed Inky in kittenhood, and my aunt believes that she even began to produce some milk for him - but I don't know. I was just a little girl, so I wasn't that aware.

I think your pictures are just adorable Kirsten. Lily must need this comfort and how generous of Luna to still mother Lily willingly

I think it must make Luna happy also as she looks so relaxed and content.

Years ago I had an adult male who would happily nurse a younger kitty that we had. It went on for many, many years. The older cat, Harvey grew large nipples and they would stay rather red. My vet assured me it was no problem as long as the Harvey did not object.
