    We got the results about Jimmy's bladder stones.need some support. Updated 4/20.

    Poor Jimmy again. For those of you that don't know, Jimmy has been through a lot in the few months I've had him. The most recent aliment has been bladder stones and blockages which required emergency surgery.

    I didn't take the call and the doctor couldn't call me because he had to perform a surgery. He told my brother to have me call him Thursday. Jimmy's stones were sent away to the University of Michigan (I think) and he has been a case study there for the past month. Jimmy's stones are from a hereditary, very rare, protein problem. He cannot digest a certain protein and now HE CAN'T EAT MEAT! My poor poor boy . He’s been through so much and now we have to take away something that makes him happy. No raw hides, treats, or his old food. I have to get his food and treats from the vet now and he has to get his necessary proteins from vegetables now. I feel so bad. I need good vibes, prayers and encouragement. I think if it was one of the other dogs I'd be taking this news better, but my Jimmy has had such a horrible life.

    On the other hand, I'm trying to stay positive. Things could have been worse for him, especially if I didn't rescue him.

    I’ll know more when I talk to the doctor on Thursday.

    Aww, but just think - he'll be feeling much better now on the no-meat diet, poor guy, and I bet you'll soon find a treat he likes just as much. Some dogs looooooooove, for example, the peanut butter Scooby Snacks (right Sherman?). And as someone with food allergies (which is probably similar to his inability to tolerate certain proteins), tell Jimmy I know what it feels like, and his tummy will feel much, much, much better.

    Jimmy is very lucky to have someone so caring to look after him. Please give him a big hug and kiss from me. Being on a reistricted diet, if it makes him feel better, isn't such a bad thing.

    Awww poor Jimmy. As bad as news as this might seem, it's not that bad. There are plenty of other treats he can learn to love. Cheese might become his new favorite treat.

    Poor Jimmy. Maybe this will mark the beginning of good health for
    him. He sure deserves a break. I do hope the change of food helps him.

    Poor Jimmy, and you. I am sure it is tough worry so much about the little guy. I hope this solves the problems for him. And as has already been said, he may find that not only does he feel much better, but he really likes some of the new food/treats he gets to have now.

    I am so sorry to hear that ......... {{{hugs to you}}}}

    I did a search, and found this SITE that might help you with treats!

    You would have to make them, but there are many WITHOUT meat .......

    I hope this helps
