    Scared and unsure mommy

Three days ago, Jax and Malibu (my cats) started sneezing. Nothing major, just a few series of sneezes here and there. No nasal discharge, no eye ickies, just sneezing. It continued in Jax and ceased in Malibu. Yesterday my puppy (5 month old basset hound), Noba, began sneezing. They are all acting normal (hating each other, lovin me), no changes in eating / drinking, or energy levels. Anyone have any idea what this may be??? I am thinking of taking them to the vet next week, but before I scheduled a three pet appt, some ideas would be greatly appreciated... thanks

Hi and welcome! Many cats and dogs have seasonal allergy problems just like some people. Where do you live? Could allergies be the cause? I once had a dog that would get the serious itchies every spring and fall. Perhaps the vet will recommend a mild hystimine for when/if it seems to really bother them. Welcome to PetTalk

Hi, thanks for the info. I live in Seattle and have lived here for two years. Jax I got in Florida and he has had no problems, neither has Malibu. Is this something they could have just developed this year?? Noba is still a puppy, so I guess allergies are possible... I will be taking them to the vet on Monday if it does not subside. Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum! You'll probably get more responses if you put this in cat health. I don't have any advice unfortunately, but good luck with clearing it up!

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

Allergies can develop at any time in an animal (or person's) lifetime, so yup, it could be something that they've newly developed, or it could just be that you have an extra heavy pollent count this spring, and what would have been normally a little irritation has become an allergy!

    They have my sympathy.
