    little dog, Agility question

I don't really know too much about agility. I think Nova might enjoy it though. She loves to run and play. She loves to run around and chase Nacey. She always seems to think a step ahead, I don't think I can explain it.

My concern is her size, she's only 10 pounds (she's full grown, she's just barely 2 years old).

I don't know if it's something I'm really going to do, but I've been thinking about looking into it. I guess I'm just looking for opinions and advise.

I'm no expert on agility, either, although I'd like to try it too! If I'm not mistaken I've seen chihauhuas doing agility. So, if Nova is only 10 pounds it shouldn't be a huge problem...they do adjust the bars and everything to accomodate different sizes.

Good luck if you decide to do it! It's looks like so much fun!

Thanks. I was talking to Justin about it last night and he thought it sounded like a good idea.

The chihuahuas are so cute. I'll have to show them to Justin, he's a sucker for chihuahuas.

Snowy reminds me a bit of Nova, especially the ears. I think Nova might be part JRT, she has a lot of JRT qualities. She certainly has the energy of a JRT.

We have 2 pom's in Hunters class, 1 weighs about 2 lbs the other 3 lbs maybe less but definately not more. So weight shouldn't be an issue.

Little late replying to this but yes little dogs can do agility quite easily. I have a Papillion who weighs between 5-7 lbs and he loves it.

In fact some of the best agility dogs that I know are small dogs.

Thanks Amy for the great sig!

Nova would be fine in agility, they have different sized jumps for different sized dogs. My friend does agility with her two yorkies and my other friend does it with her Pom. At my aunts I do agility with her little Chihuahua, who is 13 years old . As you are probubly coming to see, all sizes and ages of dogs can do agility.
I think you can find some useful information at these links if you'd like to take a look:

Hope I could help a bit and good luck with Nova and agility
