I wouldn't worry a bit. Bon didn't do it till he was almost a year old and after he was neutered he's pretty much stopped doing it again. I rarely see him lift his leg.
From what I've heard and read it is done to mark territory. Maybe Merilyn doesn't feel the need to mark.
Huney, Bon & Simba-missed so very much
Remembering all the Rainbow Bridge Pets
Not really worried was just curious he was neutered and he has a mix of them at play group.. he is the youngest and the roughest in the group.

Why is it a big deal if he does/doesn't left his leg?![]()
Amber: Mom to Connor, Carson, Sadie, Maggie and Grant
Char has never done it. Maybe ONCE (or maybe that was Jamie??) but I think it was because they were in an odd position in the first place, LOL. He has never lifted his leg and still squats. He was neutered at... seven months and is 1 1/2 now and still squats![]()
My cousin's Westie was fixed before he started lifing his leg and he never did. I don't think it's a big deal.
Billy and Willy! (2 of my 4)
Lots of male dogs never lift their legs when they pee. Cracker has never done it. He has a manly lean forward hehe. He was neutered at 6 months old. It's nothing to be concerned with and your dog may never do it. I actually prefer it as he doesn't pee all over everything and doesn't stop on walks to mark everything in sight.
Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!
I love you baby, passed away 03/04/2008
Kaige is 9 months old, in tact & still doesn't lift his leg, hasn't even begun to try to either.
I wouldn't worry, personally I think it's a good thing, there's less of a chance for him to mark.![]()
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.
Tito never lifted his leg until we got Bella, and then when we ot Bo, Bella started lifting her leg too! LOL
When I adopted Buddy he was a year old and intact and never lifted his leg. Untill I had a male dog visit my yard and he lifted his leg to mark and ever since then Buddy has lifted his leg. I wish he never started because I spend a lot of time and money each Spring to replace flowers and plants he has killed by peeing on them.![]()
But... I guess boys will be boys!!![]()
a breeder freind had a male sibe that started lifting his leg at 10months and she also had a sibe that didn't start lifting until he was like 2yrs old!

my yard was back to normal in just about a week. i give them to my dogs before we go on a trip so we don't kill grass wherever we stay.

Just be careful about giving treats that change the ph of your dog's urine, it could cause problems with some dogs with their bladder and kidneys.

Neither one of my boys lifts a leg yet; one is a year and the other two. I kind of like it because after I come home from the car wash my tires stay clean. Mine also have a very "macho" leaning forward position. LOL
