    New kitten on the way!

Soooo, in case anyone missed my thread from a few month back...my husband left me in November, and I was in pretty dire straits financially and emotionally for awhile. Things have mostly sorted themselves out, I'm down to just a few hundred dollars left to pay off from the legal fees, and I've moved in with my boyfriend. His best friend has a wonderful ragdoll cat who we both adore, and he's been talking about getting a ragdoll of his own for quite awhile. Last month he decided he was ready to actually start looking for a kitten, and I started sending out emails to breeders.

I chatted with a few really lovely breeders, and one who stopped responding to my emails as soon as I asked about health testing (grrr), but the one who stood out to me was Mary from Fur Real Ragdolls. She has been awesome and patient through my many many many questions. She has a litter that was born July 12, and they will be ready to go home in mid October. Right now they are still white, their color should start coming in within the week, and she has promised me pictures at that point, which I'll be delighted to share. There are 3 boys and 3 girls, and we have first pick unless someone contacts Mary wanting a show prospect.

I'm so excited I could just pop! I can't wait to see pictures of Mama and babies next week, and I'm even more excited to meet our new family member and bring them home! There should be a mix of blue and seal babies, mitted and bicolor.

Here is a half-sister (same dad) to the litter, Furreal Reina Star. She was the second best allbreed kitten worldwide for TICA last year!

    How exciting! What wonderful news!!!

And what a beautiful big half-sister the kittens have!

    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Wonderful! And the breeder keeps them for 12 weeks more? Great! I can't wait to see which one you pick1

Thank you everyone! Since I work in an animal shelter, I've been wary of telling my co-workers that I'm getting a cat from a breeder, but so far I've discovered that many of the people I work with have a mix of rescued and breeder animals. One of our front desk volunteers even has a ragdoll from one of the breeders I chatted with!

Good breeders keep kittens until they are 12 weeks old. They are still small and cute and a tad more sturdy!

    Looking forward to pics!
