    General information

    General information:

The Scottish Fold is a breed of domestic cat with a natural dominant-gene mutation that affects cartilage throughout the body, causing the ears to "fold", bending forward and down towards the front of their head, which gives the cat what is often described as an "owl-like" appearance.

The original Scottish Fold was a white barn cat named Susie, who was found at a farm near Coupar Angus in Perthshire, Scotland, in 1961.

The typical lifespan of a Scottish Fold is 15 years.

The breed is registered in several systems such as: WCF (World Cat Federation), CFA (Cat Fanciers' Association), TICA (The International Cat Association), AACE, ACFA (American Cat Fanciers Association), CAA (Cat Aficionado Association).

    So these are breed standards:
    CFA standard
    TICA standard
    AACE standard
    ACFA/CAA standard
    WCF standard

Scottish Folds come in four types: folded ear (Scottish Fold) and normal ear (Scottish Straight), and their variations with long hair - Highland Fold and Highland Straight. The folded ear is produced by an incomplete dominant gene and is the result of a spontaneous mutation.

    Scottish Straight:

Who is the Scottish straight eared kitty?

It is funny, as some people don't realize a Scottish Fold can give birth to a straight eared kitten, but they also have trouble with a yellow Lab having black Lab puppies - it's all just a teensy change in the genes!

    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Your kitties are very beautiful! The picture of the cat with the red bow on her head gives me a huge smile!

As examples we use photos of Simba Iceberg, Benedict of Simba Iceberg and girl Euphoria of Simba Iceberg :)

Oh, yes :D If we depart from the topic about scottish cats, we think it's funny that some people think that bobtail cats tails cut off. If in fact, they are born without tails :D

Thank you all for your compliments! :)

But, frankly speaking, we created this theme not to show our cats! We really want to improve people's knowledge about this breed of cats!
We think, it's sad, that some people continue to call Scottish Folds as Brittish Folds! And they continue mating folds with folds! -_-

I don't have any questions... for now, but I wonder if you read any of this guy's books? I enoyed his stories.

Sorry for the delay in response, we had a lot to do. And it was hard to find this topic. I don't know why, but it does not appear in the "cat breeds"
No, we do not read this author's books. However, reviews of books are interesting. So we'll read it, if we have more free time
