    Special Smudge

Dear Smudge, what a beautiful black and white Short Hair lady you are. I love your markings, especially your little half-mustache.
I'm very sorry that your first meowmy passed away, but you bonded with your other special purrson in your life.
You two have conversations about your night, and then you get some "stinky", but tasty cat food.
What a great home you have, sweet Smudge. And it looks like that you have an orange kitty sibling, if I'm not mistaken.
I hope that you and your family have a great celebration today, with lots of cuddles and all or your favorite treats.

    Thank you!!!

As a longtime cat rescue volunteer it made me very happy to read that you are continuing to give Smudge a loving home. It is very upsetting the number of people (family members) of the person who passed away just dumps the cat(s) or dog(s) at a rescue where they are overloaded, with no donation (and they probably inherited some money) and so the animal is often euthanized because of lack of funds or is so depressed because of the sudden change in their life and becomes sick and unadoptable (yes, that happens often). People don't realize how losing their loved one affects these animals - so thank you for mentioning that too. I always tell people to put something in their Will for the care of their animals once they are gone and also advise their veterinarian - then hope the people you chose are trustworthy...
Please have your pets sterilized as soon as possible to lower, and one day hopefully eliminate, unwanted and abandoned pets. It IS our responsibility. Adopting from a shelter also helps - encouraging breeders just adds to the overpopulation.

Congratulations on being honored as Cat of the Day, Smudge!

What a pretty girl you are! Your coat has such special markings... I can see how you got your name. And what beautiful eyes you have.

You must have been scared when you were left alone in the yard, but luckily your new mom scooped you up and gave you a loving home. You soon settled in, cuddled up and have had a wonderful and safe life ever since.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your first mom, but now you have become friends with her daughter and still live the good life. You greet her in the morning and tell what has been going on during night, and then escort her to the kitchen for your breakfast. Such a sweet girl you are.

Have a wonderful day of celebration, with extra treats and lots of loving! I wish you a long, happy and healthy life, sweetie!

Dearest Smudge, what a beautiful Tuxedo lady you are! Your black and white fur is so pretty and looks so soft with such interesting patterns. And what a sweet face you have, with those lovely big golden eyes! Those great photos show how utterly gorgeous you are! And is that an orange friend in the back of the second picture? I wish I could reach through the screen and over to Peoria, AZ to pet you both! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Meowmie will pet you for me .

And what a touching story you have to tell! You and your three littermates were born in the yard behind the house. One day your Meowmie-to-be noticed your mom and siblings were gone and you were alone, so she brought you inside. (She never did see your mom or siblings again, and we hope and pray that somehow they all were rescued and came out all right, too.) You quickly became good friends with Grand-Meowmie, napping and watching TV together for hours. Then, after she passed away, you and Meowmie became close friends. You stlil spend much of your time in Grand-Meowmie's old room, but every day you greet Meowmie and tell her about your night, and she gives you some nice stinky cat-food to eat. You and she, and the orange kitty too, I'm sure, all love each other dearly, don't you. What a delightful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Smudge, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and Meowmie and your orange kitty pal and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats. And we think your kitty mom and siblings, wherever they are, are rejoicing for you, too!

    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

    Sweet Smudge!

Hi Smudge! Happy Cat of the Day!

What a beautiful, oh so special Tuxie girl you are, indeed, with such a special story to tell! I was so touched by your human/skin sister's loving tribute, your heart-melting photos! What a happy day it was, the day your family come upon you, alone and in need, welcoming you into their home and hearts without a moment's hesitation. And from that very first day you showed your mommy just how thankful you were for the kindness shown you, being her ever faithful best friend and loving companion, the two of you spending countless, peaceful hours, cuddling, watching TV. I can only imagine how heartbroken you were at her passing. But thankfully you had your skin sister there to help fill that empty place in your heart, the two of you forging your own, very special bond of friendship! And I have no doubt, Smudge, that your mommy is looking down on you two every day, watching over you, waiting for that happy day of reunion! Until then, you have your 2nd mommy there to watch over you, assuring you that forever and always you will be loved and cherished for the very special girl that you are!

Thanks for ending my day with a BIG smile, sweetheart! I hope you're enjoying a very special Cat of the Day, being loved and pampered to pieces, treated to all your heart desires and more! Lots of love, cuddles and kisses to you, precious Smudge, our very special and most deserving Cat of the Day, EVERY day!

    Precious, just precious!!!

    Super Smudge!

Smudge, you are such a valuable friend to both your human and your human's mother. Cats like you really form special, unforgettable connections with their humans. Smudge, today's a special day for you. I hope it's filled with all kinds of cuddles, time chilling in your cat tree, and, of course, stinky cat food! Wishing you many happy years with your loving human.
