    Emma

Karen was kind enough to post this submission from over a dozen years ago... I had forgotten I had submitted it! Emma is long gone, but she’ll always be my number one cat of all times. I do feel terribly about upsetting her like that, and eventually she did move into her own room when she was having old age problems, but it was never the same. I chose to help the many over the one, and kept taking in ferals after Emma was gone, adopting out ones I could socialize or giving them to the no-kill shelter. In any case, seeing her beautiful photo makes me cry. She was a huge gem, a real treasure. Having had in and out of my house about 50 cats since then, I can truly say Emmas don’t come around often.

    Dear gillcieri,

Bless you and thank you for taking such good care of Emma and loving her so much. She really touched my heart as I read about her. What a treasure, indeed!

And bless you and thank you for taking such good care of and loving so many other kitties, sheltering them and helping them find permanent homes.

Emma is a glorious Angel at the Rainbow Bridge now, watching over you, sending down love, and reassuring you that all is well, she is with you always, and she will welcome you Home, One Fine Day...

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
