When best friends can visit (personal pets visiting patients in hospital, nursing facility..)

From the New York Times (in April, but I just found out about it this week):
    http://newoldage.blogs.nytimes.com/2...nds-can-visit/
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
"Cats," he said eventually. "Cats are nice."

Good article Pat. Even the comments are mostly positive ones to the idea. There is no doubt of the benefits
of having our pets around us, especially when we are separated from them for long hospital stays. Thanks for posting
    the article.

Men, it has been well said, think in herds. It will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one."

Great article---I think all hospitals should allow a close family pet a visit to their owner, it reassures both and healing is faster with patients who see their pets again.
