This thread is very old but yes, I have a screamer. Tango has the traditional, ear piercing, absoltuely awful to listen to Toller scream. Before I had her, I would've said that Jesse (my RB Dachsie) was a screamer too but she wasn't (she just had a horribly high pitched barky whine that sounded very close to a scream). Tango doesn't scream often though, fortunately.

Almost every schnauzer I groom or board has the "death scream" down to a science!

I used to board a chihuahua named Pancho. He SCREAMED like you would not believe. I seriously used to put a sign on the desk when we boarded him that said, "My name is Pancho. I'm ok. I'm not hurt. I'm not dying. I just like to scream." His owners thought it was a riot and took a picture of it.

Layla does some awful whining that you could probably call screaming when she wants something Lacey has. That's the only time she does it.

    My Dog Screams!

I can vouch for the fact that s dog can scream. My dog is sitting here right now screaming in a way that is blood curdling. He mixes it with whines but it mostly a very loud scream, just like an angry baby who is not getting what he wants. My dog is a 3 month old miniature long hair Dachshund and is in his fenced in area in my room, with crate open into the area. He wants to be up on the bed with me which is what will quiet him quickly. So far I've been reading not to use methods I was taught many years ago, such as the air spray and water spray. I've tried the empty soda can filled with pennies. This quieted him down for a day or two but he soon started to ignore that and continue screaming until he got what he wanted. He has food and water and toys and treats/balls that dispense treats so he does have plenty to do. I'm just waiting out the screams until he finally quiets down eventually but need a better way to deal with this. Does anyone have any ideas what is the right thing to do to stop this screaming?

You already partially answered your question: "like an angry baby who is not getting what he wants". Pets can and will manipulate us into doing things their way. Dachshunds are a headstrong breed. You also wrote that he has food, water, toys etc. How often do you play with him, train him and let him know that you are in charge? He is still a baby and he needs some guidance. The longer you wait the harder it will be to train him.
I found one website that might be helpful, but there are many more out there:

Pixie i wouldnt say screams but she has a quiver to her voice that makes me want to wrap her up in a blanket that came fresh from the dryer even though it may currently be 95+F when shes making that sound LOL
