Today's pets are up, sorry so late folks.
Thanks, Karen! No apologies necessary.
:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
Our beloved and wise Sandra (tatsxxx11) made a suggestion, and I am going to follow it, despite initially rejecting it.
Today's Dog, Cat and Pet of the Day are up, late but up. But they will also be tomorrow's featured pets all day, so will have a day and a half of fame. December 12 into the 13th, and it seemed the best day for it, as some building skip floor #13 on their elevator buttons.
Then I will endeavor to prep things so the sites can again be updated in the morning, as they used to be, and do so going forward.
Besides my own recent hospitalization, we have been dealing with an unexpected death in the extended family, it being very very busy at the Post Office, where I am now working, and financial issues. So thinks got more and more behind. And also, we are getting fewer nominations, sadly.
I am glad to report that the hard drive which seemed to be dying has been completely recovered. Bless Paul, who all those years ago, purchased a Raid Array hard drive for me - which is several drives in one case. So only one drive had issues, and they were able to replace that one, and white the data to the other paired drives.
That necessitated my driving to Boston and back last Sunday. And I will be doing so tomorrow to retrieve the drive and 20+ years of photos, memories, etc., some of which was backed up, but some not.
Thanks for your support everyone. I am sorry for my failings, but am trying.
Hug someone you love today, as tomorrow is not promised.

Thank you, Karen. :love:
This is still my favorite site, and things will pick up again!
We're with you, and here for you, Karen! Thank you so much for doing your best to keep Pet Talk up and running despite having to deal with SO many daunting challenges recently. And we'll try to better do our part too, especially in the area of recruiting nominees! And what a relief it must be, knowing that the hard drive is salvageable! (Thanks Paul!:)) As I wrote you earlier, my deepest sympathies on the passing of your extended family member.:( Just don't forget to take care of yourself, OK???
Love ya!!!

Thanks everyone. The page titles now say Friday, and I will schedule social media and then get on the road. Love you all!
Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding. Was on the road much of the day yesterday, but managed a visit to a very dear elderly friend while I was in the Boston area, retrieved my old drive and all its data, and drove through a lot of fog, rain, and slick conditions, so getting home took much longer than expected, but I arrived safely. Set my alarm to post all the pets by 9 am, and managed all but the Pet of the Day, which, when I went to upload it, I realized Mulligan the kitten has "helped" with the coding so much I needed to redo the page! But that was posted by 9:20 as of course, my hand, mouse, and oems on my desk were as fascinating to a kitten today as they were last night!
Love you all.
Monday's Pets are now up.
Chaos sometimes reigns, unfortunately. But they are up now, and corrected as well.
Tuesday's Pets are up.
Snowy day here in Vermont, but made it down the hill/mountain safely.
Thank you, Karen.
Be careful and keep safe!

Today's pets have been up for a while now - initially Cat of the Day showed today's Dog, Tulip, but that has since been remedied, and you should see Limpy! If not, clear your cache.
Today's pets are up, have been for a bit now. Off to do the social media.
Consolidated Communications - our Internet provider here - is down, and blinking in and out, much to my frustration./ But today's Pets are now up, thanks to my phone having a "hotspot" through AT&T. Sigh.
I finally spoke to someone at Consolidated Communications today - they admitted someone cut a cable, which is why we have had no reliable Internet for days, but have "no ETA" for it getting fixed. "But we're working on it." she said.
Soo frustrating! Today's pets are up now, though.
A day with many complications - but today's pets are up, so sorry, folks.
Sorry about yesterday, but today's Dog, Cat and Pet of the Day are up!
The New Pet, Dog and Cat of the Day are up!
Busy crazy day today, sorry everyone. Please do give them some love!
Today's Pets were up earlier than yesterday, and hopefully I can continue that trend.
Can I ask you all a favor? If you see errors on the pages, could you PM me? I hate discovering a missed capital letter, or misplaced word the next day, knowing it was there all day.
Today's pets are up as of a a couple hours ago. Sorry everyone. Crazy busy Monday.
Today's Pets are up, apologies folks!
Hi Karen, how are things coming with this? Sandra's suggestion is excellent.
Why don't you continue to prepare the new pages in the afternoon or whenever works best for you. Take whatever time you need, and then wait until the following morning to post them. Do it first thing when you get up, and then that's done!
That way each animal has a full calendar day that's his/hers. (And for myself, it works better for me to work on my responses about the new ones during the mornings.)
Thanks, and we are sending our best wishes wishes with it!

Thank you. I did that once, but fell back into the rhythm of getting them done in the afternoon after emergency trips to Boston for computer issues. Perhaps I will try again. I have been working on trying to get them up earlier each day, but do not always manage it, due to life's complicating factors. They were up today by 3 pm, but again, my apologies.
Thanks, Karen. More {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and ~~~~PURRRS~~~~ and :love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love: from us!

Today's Pet, Dog and Cat of the Day are up. They will also be tomorrow's honorees, and I will work on resetting my rhythm to get Sunday's up on time. Many contributing factors today.
How nice to meet them this morning! Thanks, Karen!
:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
You're welcome. That was Friday and Saturday, today there are new honorees of course!
Another off day - tomorrow will get the pets up in the morning, so sorry everyone.
I am so sorry. But the new birds here at the farm are now in their new habitat, and I promise pictures when the light is better - it's a grey, rainy (cold rain) day today, and pretty dark.
They are shagga birds, and arrived more than a week ago, and were very sick when they arrived, so have spent all that time in their shipping boxes being medicated and tended to keep hem from dying.
Karen, I hope your birds are doing much better, with your excellent care. How many are there? We are sending loving good wishes, white light, and warm healing energies to them.
Shagga birds? I looked them up, because I hadn't heard of them before.
From Wikipedia:
Also known as white eared pheasant (Crossoptilon crossoptilon). The indigenous people of Himalaya call it shagga, meaning snow fowl. Found in China, Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Tibet, where it tends to inhabit mixed forests and can be found around Buddhist monasteries.
Are any (besides yours) to be found in North America? Were yours shipped all the way from Asia?
Best wishes to them and you all!
:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
No, they are captive bred here in the US, but are an endangered species, and we need a permit to keep them. They are one of the birds Kermit studies. But because of where their native habitat is, they are well-adapted to winter in Vermont.
How interesting! Is Kermit an ornithologist?
I wish you and Kermit and the birds all the best. Looking forward to seeing photos!
:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
He is not an ornithologist, but studies bird behavioral psychology in specific species. So sorry the pets were posted mid-afternoon again today. I need to do better.
Today's Pet, Dog and Cat of the Day are finally up. It is so late in the day that they will also be tomorrow's featured pets, so no one gets a too-short time to have his or her Day of Fame. My apologies.
One of the new birds never recovered from the illness they arrived with. The others are doing well, but are still quarantined to keep the rest of the birds safe. We are having the poor deceased one necropsied. Sigh.
Dear Karen, I'm so sorry to learn about the loss of your bird. I know you gave him/her the very best care. My deepest sympathy to you all.
Sending loving good wishes and healing energies for the others, that they will be well and thriving soon.

In the fine tradition of the film "Groundhog Day" - today's pets are yesterday's pets, only they get a whole day this time! And Moday's pets will be up in the morning, reset time.
And in memory of Aunt Zha, share a good cup of tea with someone you love today. Or even coffee is you stir it with a table knife handle.
This was always Aunt Zha - Janet Smith's - birthday.
Today's Pets are up, sorry folks.
