Please pray for Lacey...

Some of you may have been following her thread about her knee surgery in Dog Health. We woke up this morning and her leg was swollen up, terribly! :( We just got back from the Emergency Vet. Lacey has an infection in her leg. It's swollen up to three times the normal size. :( They gave her an injection of a stronger antibiotic (she was already on some) and stronger pills to start tomorrow. She's also starting a diuretic(sp?) to help reduce the swelling. She has to see our vet tomorrow, they may have to open her leg up somewhere to drain. :(
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, all we want is our girl to be able to walk. She has been through so much already. :(

Oh no, poor Lacey:( She's been through so much already:( Sending lots of love and healing prayers your way, sweet baby girl. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and do the trick and she can avoid having thie site drained:( Hoping for a positive update in the next day or two. We just got back from our regular vet with Lacey. The swelling is going down some but traveling down her leg. The vet said that is good, bad news, her lower leg/foot may swell up more before this is over. :( He agreed with the medications the Emg. Vet gave her and doesn't feel the need to open up her leg. There is already a small drainage site the Emg.Vet opened and it is draining. Laceys temperature is back to normal and she is in a much better mental state than yesterday. She was so miserable. :( She goes back to the vet Thursday evening for her follow up to her surgery. We'll see how much she improves by then.

Thanks everyone. :) Lacey is in good spirits. As of late yesterday I noticed she could at least bend her knee, she was having a hard time sitting or lying down. Her leg is still swollen from her knee down. I can see some definition below her knee so maybe it will look better tomorrow. Her foot is really swollen. :( The vet said it would travel down and could take a week, so we keep praying.
Hubby has taken the week off to stay with her. I took the first few days off after her surgery, never dreamed this would happen.I thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers. They mean the world to us. :)
