I can't say I don't. I do. Fries, turkey, chicken. But I very rarley do. I mean people say it's bad for the animal and I don't want her to be put in any danger. :o What I really HATE is when family/friends come over and give her table scraps because she is so "cute". Sassy is adorable. But that's no reason to giver her anything.
Yes!They love green beans and of course meat. They dont get the 'bad' stuff, like onions, raisons, etc. The eat the leftover rice and potatoes too :o. They DONT get fed at the table though. They dont beg so we dont want that to start. We've never had a problem with table scraps.
Mostly for Tia. She gets all sorts of stuff, she particularly loves pepperoni pizza!
Yes... :o
yes.. :o but they don't get them *every* night..
Yes, almost every night but I make him sit first and they go in his bowl.
Not usually...I don't like starting bad habits with Blaze, 'cause then he thinks he can get away with anything!:p
I do, but I NEVER give it to them while I'm eating. I always wait until I am done (and everyone else) and then I put the scraps in their bowls and make them sit and then give it to them.
And if they get an excess of table scraps, I calculate that into their daily food amount so I may give them 1/2 less of food or something to compensate
I voted sometimes. I only give them certain things, and only tiny pieces.
Yes, sometimes we do.. and just to point it out, we do feed scraps from the table and sometimes while we're eating.. lol You can all yell at me now. :D
Not so much 'table scraps' as in our leftovers.
The birds get all kinds of things, mostly fruits, vegetables, and pasta.
I often give the dogs things when I'm feeding the birds. They most often get baby carrots.
The cats almost never get anything. On occasion they may get a little nibble of fish or chicken or something.
yes, sometimes. they don't get fed in bulk though. just a few pieces here and there. i read online that sometimes 'human food' can be better than dog food, if fed in the correct amounts, with proper nutrients.
Same here :o Its mostly my dads fault, and you can tell, at dinner time they all are swarmed around him. They are all very polite beggers though, for the most part :oQuote:

Yep. Anytime I'm over at my parents' house for dinner the dogs stay at my feet.
My sister feeds the cat...I never realized it until one time at dinner Cupcake walked over onto the windowsill and from there put her front paws on my sister's shoulder and pulled a bite of mashed potatoes off of her fork!
I voted yes... I needa spoil my baby, of course :D
rarely, but sometimes. Always when we are done eating.
Yes. But if Autumn gets a lot I give her less for her next meal. She lays on the floor by the table. I don't consider that begging, just watching and wishing. She'd sit outside of the room if I actually told her to. I don't consider it bad to give a healthy dog table scraps. I've had a talk with the whole family recently to cut back. I'd like to get 5 pounds off her because she's showing signs of bad hips. They actually listened and you can see it helped her, she's wasn't much overweight to begin with but now you can see her ribs a little.
no, but others do so she still begs for it
Sometimes. Jenny sometimes gets raw sweet potato, turnip, celery, etc.
Saturday night she gets a bit of meat or gravy on her food, just enough for flavor, though. We never feed her from the table though.
umm..no...okay, yeh, I give my sweetie table scraps. She rarely gets them, and if she happens to beg for them, she does not get any. She usually has to sit, or sit pretty. I only give her little pieces of chicken, turkey, or raw, tiny pieces of fat off of steaks. I don't want her getting sick, or overwieght (that would be really bad for her leg).
Steph and Jes
Yes, Camen always get a piece of meat and rice and potato, he doesn't like raw vegtables. Got to be cooked..hehehehe
But, We don't feed at the table. Only after we eat i put it in his bowl and I get him to sit and stay until say "eat"
Same here.Quote:

I do, yes, but not EVERYTHING goes!! I only give them certain things, and only very tiny pieces; like: a little piece of chicken, turkey, cheese, ham. Snoopy eats everything so she also gets some of my veggies sdometimes :D
The only time I ever give Molli or Sammy table scraps is when we are eating pork chops, we will give them the bones. But they are givin them only when they are in their kennels because Molli is VERY food aggresive. Also so they know they don't get food right from the table. Plus Sam is a Cocker and they get fat easily.
Oreo gets chicken and turkey.
Guilty :o
I don't give him table scraps because he's already too fat and he's such a beggar I hate to encourage that.He get lots of treats though (too many in fact)
We used to ALL the time when we had Angus & Keisha but now we rarely do.
What they usually get now is to lick our plates clean when we are done eating, yes...I said lick off our plate and no it doesn't gross us out:p
But here lately they were begging too much so we've stopped it (well for the most part any way:D)
Definately...I don't think Bear would ever speak to me again if I didn't.. :D ;)
Out of my three cats, Amadeus is the only one who will eat table scraps. He gets turkey, chicken and fries! I don't feed my puppy, Bailey, table scraps and probably never will. He already has a well balanced dry kibble that provides him with everything he needs. He will be getting a raw bone 2X a week and reward treats. I put Bailey in his Ex-Pen every time we're eating. I let him watch and then give him his kibble when we're finished. Since I can't put my cats in a kennel, they all sit around us when we're eating. I am NOT the guilty one for feeding Amadeus scraps, DH is. He feels "sorry" for him when he sits there looking so cute. Atleast my other two kitties won't get fat, Amadeus is getting rounder and rounder... Too much table scraps! LOL!
Lol, We do that too :DQuote:

Dang it.. i voted for the wrong one. i ment 'sometimes' as it does depend on what it is.
popcorn i have no issues sharing with him. but other stuff im very strick with.
and sometimes ill give him some of the crust off a sandwhich. and sometimes some types of candy. like Skittles. he loves those things. but i only give him 1 or 2 and thats it. and thats all the table scraps hes ever had.
Yup, if I put my leftovers in the fridge they usually just stay there until they go bad lol. Visa's on a raw diet so she is used to eating food other than kibble. I also get her to lick my plates and bowls clean because I always forget to rinse them. Then the plates and bowls just tend to accumulate on the floor. This post is making me realise that I'm a slob LOL.
all the time, right off my fork as I am eating. do they beg? sure do! dont bother me, I like being surrounded by dogs, I just require that if they are gonna beg they must do it politly, and that means NO drooling on me! :p
Yep, we sure do! :p
They're not the "scraps" off of the table though, we supplement their food with healthy human food (the stuff we eat before it's prepared with sauce and such, just when it's cooked, if it's good for them). We don't feed them off of the table because we don't want them to beg, but it seems that regardless of how often you tell visitors not to feed the dogs off of the table, they don't listen, so they do get slipped food off of the table when I'm not watching. They're good and healthy though so I'm happy!
Sometimes I let my two Chihuahuas have table scraps, but not often. Buffy is way to fat as it is. The cats never get table scraps, but then they don't want them anyway.
Willie :)
I don't give them tablescraps very much. Sometimes if Georgia follows me downstairs and I can't finish my sandwich or something, I give it to her, but rarely.
