''Pictures'' within Pictures

Hmm that's an interesting concept!! It really gives the feeling that everyone else around the highlighted part has been "frozen in time" while giving the highlighted part a sense of life.
That sounds lame but I don't know how else to word it LOL
-
That is cool!!! I agree with Jessika, about the frozen in time thing, it really does give it that concept!
-
That's very cool! What a great way to display photos of your cutie pies with an artistic flair. I love it and it makes me want Photoshop for sure now :D
-
Nice effect! Especially with the yellow flowers, it's really dramatic.
-
Very pretty :p
Is there a tutorial for that online anywhere please? :) Or if not, could someeone tell me how to do it. I'm interested! :D
-
Those are really nice! It definately draws your eye to the main focus. Good pics!
-
Thank you for looking, and all the nice comments.
ComedyDevil, what version of PhotoShop do you have? And I'll see if I can get something for you to use to make them.

Those are awesome and I agree with Jessika on that! With the frozen time like a show I watch wants to tell everyone the truth and an angel comes and freezes everyone else but them two and they are talking for him to change back and realize what he is doing and then he says yes and everything is back to normal.
I should try that that is awesome!

What version of PhotoShop do you have and we can help you. I don't know if it works in all versions. What one are you using MariaM ?

I am using Photoshop 7. For me it was very simple. I opened up the picture, duplicated the layer (control + J). Then I uh...forgot the word. It's not crop, but its ummm....like extract kind of. It's like the "cut". I can't remember what its called. Oh, I think its selection. So I "selected" the part I wanted colorful and then while the lines were still around it, clicked "New Layer". That brough just the little picture into its own layer. There I added the borders, just by using the paint brush. (Press down, then press "Shift" to make a straight line). I also added a outside glow. You right click on the layer and press "Blending Options" and you should find it. Then I went back to the original image and I believe its under "Image", I pressed "Desaturate" to make it black and white. I added borders on there the same way. Because the little picture layer is on top, it will make it look like what I showed. If you want to make it all one layer, I believe merging layers is (Control + E). Then save it. I hope that helped. It's not too complicated. Sorry if the commands are a bit off, I'm not at the computer with Photoshop on it right now so I can't check for sure.

I have Photoshop version 4- I know, it's ancient! but I also have a photo-editing program from Corel.
MariaM, thanks, I think I can do it that way, too.
-
I love that idea! I agree with Jessika also!
-
I tried it, it was fun! yours are much better than mine though. I have version CS.
-
Accidentally saved the one with a cute chow mix as photoshop file so I'll post it later, the dog is pretty darn cute!
-
You guys are getting good at this :D :D :D
And as I originally posted, it is to shoot a picture and shoot it again. make yourself see more than one photo at a time

Cool! ;) I really like that idea, it would be awesome to make a calender of dog breeds using that technique. It really makes the person looking at it focus their attention to the coloured area. Great job! :D
-
Great pictures everyone!
Now I want photoshop too (not like I don't have enough photo editing programs now:o)!
You've all did great:D
-

Oh, that second set of photos are great! I don't have any photo editing program (I can only resize and crop). I would love to be able to do something like the ones above.
